Performances will include a concert of Czech music, including Husa’s Music for Prague, by the GVSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, on Friday evening, and a chamber concert by GVSU faculty and friends on Saturday evening. There will also be a lecture-recital presenting theater music of Wenzel Müller.

Keynote lectures include Bruno Nettl (Illinois): Four Stories about Music in the Czech Lands

Michael Beckerman (New York): Michna Up and Down

The other featured lecture will be: Rudolf Pietsch (Vienna): The so-called “Bohemian” in Alpine Music: Observations on Musical Style in Recordings of Adolf Pokorny, 1912-14 and 1926-32
